Graduate Project M.Ed In Health Promotion Guidelines CAPSTONE EXPERIENCES Master's of Education in Health Promotion students are allowed three choices to complete their program of study. One option is to complete the requirements for HED 750 Graduate Project M.Ed in Health Promotion. A second option is the completion of advisor approved 3 credits plus successfully passing the Comprehensive Exam. The third option is to write a thesis (see Thesis option guidelines). Students must be enrolled in at least one graduate credit at the time of their graduation semester. HED 750 Graduate Project in Health Promotion Guidelines If a student chooses the graduate project, the following guidelines apply: The Graduate Project in the M.Ed. in Health Promotion is viewed by the program's graduate faculty as a sophisticated event (much like a master's thesis) completed at the conclusion of a student's course of study. Specifically, this professional project is the culminating experience that demonstrates a student's ability to coalesce the concepts learned in the degree program. Students select their professional project in concert with their advisor with input from at least one, preferably two, of the other health promotion faculty members of their committee (Two Department of Health Promotion faculty; one graduate college faculty representative. All of whome must have correct graduate faculty status). Several Options are available to the student in the "selection" of a professional project. These options can be best described as being in one of two categories - Basic Research or Applied Research. A brief description of each option in the two categories is listed below. |
