1. A GRANT PROPOSAL assignment that would place major responsibility on the student for the development of the document for the purpose of soliciting funds for a Health Promotion project.

2. An INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE that would offer the student a learning opportunity that might enhance their career by improving their competencies as a health promotion professional.

3. A PILOT PROGRAM in Health Promotion that would include the identification of a population; a needs assessment; behavioral analysis; theory selection; planning / implementing an intervention; program administration; and evaluation.

4. A TECHNOLOGY PROJECT that would allow the student to apply new technology strategies to the field of Health Promotion.

5. Other CREATIVE IDEAS that will not restrict the innovative skills of graduate students.

Guidelines for the Written Component

ie. Pilot Program, Internship Experience, Technology Project, or Creative Idea

1. Introduction
   This section identifies the need (using APA citation format), rationale and / or purpose and provides insight into the selection of the topic area. This section should also describe, in detail, the methods used in collecting the information or the data.

2. Project Review

3. Provide basic evidence (using APA citation format) as to both the programmatic value as well as the value to the field of Health Promotion of the type of applied activity you have chosen.

4. The Project's Impact
   Describe what is different with the a) target group, b) field of Health Promotion as a result of your activity.

5. Recommendations
   Discuss why your activity should continue and / or should be replicated.

1. Describe the need and importance of the topic.

2. Describe why a) the topic and b) the option were selected.

3. Describe what was done to complete the graduate project. Specifically, discuss procedures, methods, what you discovered and the project's impact.

4. Discuss conclusions about the information gained as a result of this option being completed as well as providing recommendations about the topic area for future consideration.

5. Summarize this experience in terms of it being a synthesis of your program of study.

6. Provide a single copy of your professional portfolio for committee review (optional).

NOTE:
Please plan on 60 minutes to present ­ this includes 30 minutes for questions. The time frame may be extended if more questioning is necessary. Visual aids for your presentation are required (e.g. Powerpoint, Keynote, or other equivalent program) - lecturing during the entire time is discouraged.
