Degree Requirements: Concentrations

In addition to the Health Promotion and research core requirements, students are given the opportunity to select from one of the eight concentrations. To complete the degree requirements the course work in each concentration is described below.

Interdisciplinary Concentration (12 Credits)

Students who select the Interdisciplinary Concentration may, following consultation with, and the approval of a Health Promotion advisor, enroll in any approved graduate level course that is consistent with the student's professional goals. Sample programs, departments, and schools from which approved courses may be selected include, but are not limited to:

Anthropology, Business Administration, Counseling, Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood, Economics, Education Psychology, Environmental Studies, Health Care Administration, Health Education, Health Physics, Kinesiology, Nursing, Nutrition, Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education, Theatre, Workforce Education, the School of Communication, and the School of Social Work.

NOTE: A maximum of nine (9) credits of 600 level courses can be taken. Any undergraduate course judged equivalent to a 600 level course may not be counted toward the degree program requirements.
