Graduate Assistant Positions The faculty in the Department of Health Promotion seek qualified applicants to join their Department in the position of Graduate Assistant. Graduate Assistants work with the department faculty 19.5 hours per week during the semester. The Master's level Graduate Assistant package includes a stipend for the nine month academic year and an 89% graduate tuition waiver. The responsibilities of the position includes the following:
The ultimate determination of which activities are assigned will be based upon the background, knowledge, and experience of each Graduate Assistant and the prioritized needs of the department. There is a finite number of positions available, the search is competitive, and all applicants must meet Graduate College minimum standards (e.g., a minimum GPA of 3.00 at time of acceptance and during all coursework, enrollment in at least 6 graduate hours per semester). To receive a fall assistantship: March 1st Graduate Assistants are discouraged from working outside the graduate assistantship. No special arrangements will be made to accomodate work schedules. In addition to the assistantships that are awarded within the Department of Health Promotion, there are numerous health-related assistantships available across campus through the Division of Student Life.
